Motorcycle Training

Deciding which route to take to get on two wheels can be confusing. At Ride On Motorcycle Training we will help you choose a course that meets your needs whilst being fun and informative as well as challenging. Your safety is our prime concern so we’ll make sure you have all the right skills no matter what your experience level is. We are always available to answer your questions, just pick up the phone or drop us an email.

For beginners there is our 2 hour taster session and Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) day. For those wishing to achieve a full unrestricted motorcycle license there is the Direct Access Scheme (DAS), license category A or, if you are under 24years of age, the A1 or A2 license category giving you access to smaller machines.

In addition to this, we offer tailor made motorcycle training for riders wanting to raise their skill and awareness level through the introduction to advanced riding course whether riding solo or carrying pillion passengers. Regardless how experienced or advanced a rider gets there is always room for improvement!
Our back to bikes sessions are also designed meet your specific needs and are great if its been some time since you last rode, helping you get back on the road safely.

Can’t recommend Steve highly enough! I had been wanting to do my full bike test for quite a few years and had looked at many different bike schools, but I am so glad I chose Ride On. I did the 6 day DAS course and I can say it was a pleasure to do from start until finish. Steve is very clear and to the point with what is required which makes the learning both easy and fast. He is very approachable and I felt very comfortable asking questions if I didn’t understand something or wanted him to explain further. He is also a good guy and by the end of the course just felt like a mate who I was going out riding with.

I completed a 5 day direct access course with Steve. Even though I had been riding 125 bikes for 8 years I soon noticed I had ALOT to learn. Steve was a great trainer and really could not ask for anything better. Very calm but firm. He does not shout when you get it wrong but tells you why you shouldn’t do it and how to improve. I passed both my mods 1st time and was worth every penny. Thanks again Steve.

I decided to do my motorcycle training with Ride On as they are widely recommended by not only bike shops, students but long term riders and other instructors too. I was confident Ride On would the best place to be taught to rand take my Direct Access Scheme and to develop my riding skills further. The instructor Steve is a bike genius! He is always there, fully prepared and equipped for every lesson and very professional. To say the very least it is clear that his true talent is teaching. He is super patient, explains everything you need to know and learn very clearly and concisely and obviously has tons of experience teaching and riding. He does not skip a beat, and therefore I felt fully prepared when going to test. Not only does he teach you how to pass a bike test, but he also trains and teaches you how to ride for everyday life. When I started my training at the school it is fair to say that I was not a natural! But Steve was super patient, encouraging and amazingly helpful! I honestly could have not passed my bike test without him.

Took my CBT in June this year after a 32 year gap from riding a bike and today passed modules 1 & 2. I have thoroughly enjoyed the 6 day Direct Access course, Steve has a very direct teaching style that is too the point and precise. The radio contact you have with him while training is spot on, so you are never in any doubt what you should be doing and he even arranged for the sun to shine all week. Thanks to the patience shown by the instructors at Ride On, particularly Steve, I overcame my lack of confidence and nerves which had built up over time having had a bad experience elsewhere.
